The Westinghouse Standard is really a nice sized machine. These could be ice chests or like this one - a "wet" box. "Wet Boxes" mean it's filled with water. The agitator moves the water through the coils which are cold. The cold water chills the sodas. The ice chest with the open bottom would have a two hole cap catcher while this model with a full front panel uses a 4 hole cap catcher. Some of these boxes came with a Vendo Top on them meaning a cashier didn't need to be nearby. It could be outside a store for after hour sales. This one had only a part of the Vendo lid so it was restored with the flip lids. Lots of parts are available for this machine: Lids - HP2, Handles - HP14B, Hinges - HP12B, Gasket - RP15B, Decals - DP108, and DP67, Cap Catcher - HP30O. Various electrical parts include the agitator - EP25, and wiring harness - EP15 with a compressor lead - EP15A. |
