The VMC-44 and V-44 used different doors, lock bars and locks.  During production of the VMC-44 and V-44 production could have used a door from the other machine.  Therefore it is IMPORTANT that you measure to be sure you are ordering the correct one for your machine.  Measure from the center of where the lock hole is to the top catch on the main door.  If this is approximately 12" to the top catch and 9" to the bottom catch this is the one you need.
